Sail between floating islands and fight fungi corruption.
Check out the announcement trailer for Aloft, a survival sandbox from an indie studio Astrolabe Interactive. The video shows what you do the most in the game: harvest resources, build bases on floating islands, sail between them, and fight mushrooms.
Living on islands flying around an eternal hurricane, you will travel trying to find new resources, technologies, and equipment upgrades and battling fungi corruption – two most interesting and unusual attractions of Aloft.
"Learn more about your origins as you uncover secrets from the ruins of a civilization long gone, and find the answers to their demise by reaching the highest altitudes and braving the challenges of the hurricane."
The sandbox features a ship-building system, allowing you to adjust the height and width of masts, rotate and expand the sails, and craft any decoration you want.
The wind is both your friend and foe here: allow it to help you navigate the world and automate machines but don't let it overwhelm you. Build bridges and zip lines, farm crops, raise animals, and enjoy the beautiful scenery or fly freely using your glider, this game has a lot of freedom to offer.
And if you're tired of exploring, try out the island editor and create the best floating land in the game universe to play on with up to 7 friends in co-op.
According to the trailer, Aloft will be released in 2024. For now, you can play the demo and wishlist it on Steam.
