TexturingXYZ, renowned for its extensive library of high-quality textures for 3D Artists, announced a few months ago that it's working on SKAP, a new online platform designed to generate ultra-detailed skin texture maps from your input.
While details about SKAP are still very limited, the tool is said to process your own data to produce accurate results and could be useful in workflows involving human scans. It's designed to pick up even the tiniest skin details and give you production-ready maps, so artists don't have to spend days sculpting or fixing messy projected textures.
Here are some demos from TexturingXYZ:
TexturingXYZ recently shared a new update announcing that SKAP can now process an arbitrary number of FACS expressions. For each expression, it automatically generates a dedicated set of high-quality 16K displacement maps, including grayscale displacement, multi-channel displacement, and cavity maps.
The video on top of the page showcases three static FACS, without any 4D captures, image sequences, or OBJ sequences. The animation is reportedly driven solely by three blendshapes and their matching displacement maps.
