The tabletop adaptation of Apex Legends will be a team-based skirmish game that allows players to utilize abilities, manage resources, and strategically maneuver on the board.
The Apex Legends board game, developed by Glass Cannon Unplugged under the official license from Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment, has recently kicked off its Kickstarter campaign.
This tabletop adaptation is set to be a skirmish game designed for team-based play with up to four players which features detailed miniatures and three-dimensional terrain. A typical game session lasts around 60 minutes, providing players with opportunities to utilize abilities, manage resources, and strategically maneuver on the board, capturing the core elements of the popular battle royale shooter.
The base game comprises four legends, namely Bangalore, Bloodhound, Wraith, and Gibraltar, each depicted with detailed, unpainted miniatures. The company also intends to introduce more characters through future expansions.
Those interested in acquiring a copy of the game can pledge their support, starting at the core tier for $87, which offers a savings of approximately $37 off the intended retail price. The core tier grants backers access to the boxed edition of the game upon its launch.
Contributors who wish to support the stretch goals of the game can explore additional backing tiers that offer more exciting extras. For example, the $125 Full Team tier provides additional miniatures for Pathfinder and Lifeline, along with extra terrain and props.
Meanwhile, the $256 Gameplay All-in tier includes all of the above, along with two additional squad expansions, card sleeves, a playing mat, and a supply miniatures pack. Opting for the Full Team or All-in tier will result in savings of $54 or $113, respectively, compared to their intended retail prices.
The anticipated release for the game is scheduled for June 2024 and a fundraising campaign initiated by Glass Cannon Unplugged will run until June 8, 2023, aiming to secure a minimum of $244,491 in order to proceed with the project.
