As we previously reported, Naughty Dog recently announced The Last of Us 2 Remastered, which is coming to PlayStation 5 on January 29, 2024, featuring a lot of updates, including a new roguelike mode called No Return. This mode will allow players to take on the roles of lots of different characters and give an opportunity for players to test their skills in unpredictable encounters and explore fresh combat dynamics.
Recently, it's been noted that Naughty Dog's QA tester shared some interesting information on the mode, mentioning their involvement in the creation, implementation, and testing of "AI dialogue regions in-engine across 12 different No Return roguelike level layouts in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered." While there is no specific information regarding the levels, it's important to remember that not all these levels may be included in the final game.
Earlier, we also reported that the remaster would include a new set of Lost Levels, giving players access to cut episodes that did not make it into the original game's final version. Fans believe they have identified what these might be. There are possibilities of a new level featuring Ellie hunting a boar and further exploration of Jackson before Ellie's meaningful moment with Dina.
The No Return mode will also reportedly add new playable characters such as Tommy, Jesse, Mel, and others who were not part of the original game.
