The Simpsons Turns Into Anime for a Death Note Tribute

The episode is created together with DR Movie, which has worked on the original Death Note.

The Simpsons has been around for over 30 years and it still manages to come up with some crazy ideas. This time, for its annual Treehouse of Horror Halloween compilation, the show will become an anime. And not just any anime: one episode will be a tribute to Death Note.

In this anime version, Lisa plays the role of Yagami Light receiving the Death Note (or, in this case, the Death Tome.) From the screenshots and videos available online, you can see many familiar characters and their new appearance.

The episode will get many viewers for sure as it has interested both The Simpsons and anime lovers. The new style looks good, you can't argue with this. And it's no wonder: the creators took their job very seriously and invited DR Movie – a Korean animation studio, which has worked on many titles (The Animatrix, Justice League), including Death Note itself.

The episode will go live on Fox on October 30 and will be the second of the three Halloween segments. The other two will be a tribute to the horror film Babadook and a Westworld parody.
