This Low Poly Game Mixes Zelda With Shadow of the Colossus

Check out this incredible WIP platformer game being developed by Studio Pixel Punk.

Tiani Pixel, a Game Developer at Studio Pixel Punk and one of the creators behind UNSIGHTED, a 2021 pixel art action RPG, has recently unveiled a new WiP demo for the studio's upcoming low poly platformer game with The Legend of Zelda vibes powered by Unity.

Demonstrating one of the game's boss fights, the new demo showcases a neat Shadow of the Colossus-style gameplay mechanic that lets the players climb on top of gigantic mechanical beasts using a combination of stylish jumps, dashes, and flips, as well as a grappling hook.

Another notable feature showcased in the demo is the game's dynamic camera, which, according to the developer, was set up with "a slider for the character's position (+offset), and rotation controlled by the mouse or right analog stick".

Please note that the game is currently in early development, meaning that the demonstrated abilities and game models will be further refined and improved as the production process progresses. "We'll start pitching once it's a bit more polished and we managed to wrap a good vertical slice demo," commented Tiani.
