Khena B shared a look at Subside's procedurally animated apex predator.
Gearing up for the 2024 release, Solo Game Developer Khena B has shared one more in-progress look at Subside, an upcoming Unreal Engine-powered aquatic VR experience, demonstrating the game's apex predator, the one and only Great White Shark.
For those who might be unfamiliar, Subside is a new game that promises to offer multiple expansive areas for exploration and realistic aquatic creatures for players to engage with. According to the game's description on Steam, it was developed to replicate the intricate details of swimming and diving in shallow waters, aiming to offer a true-to-life experience.
In the latest demo, Khena unveiled the game's portrayal of the Great White Shark, which was animated procedurally to ensure that, much like in real life, the creature's movements and behavior are somewhat unpredictable and can, at times, seem random. According to the developer, both the shark and its AI are currently WIP and will be further refined and improved ahead of June 2024, the month when Khena plans to ship a demo version of Subside.
And here are some more of the most recent demos for Subside shared by the developer:
