It was created by Oliver Lawson for a new game project, currently in early development.
Oliver Lawson, a seasoned professional in the fields of Game Development, Art Direction, and Concept Art, has recently shared a short demo announcing that he began working on a new game project and previewing the very first development tool created for it.
The tool in question is an impressive WIP procedural building generator that lets one create the walls for medieval-style buildings, complete with windows, doors, and smaller details, by simply drawing splines. According to the creator, the upcoming game will feature "ye olde (but realistic) towns", with the tool's primary purpose seemingly being to help bring these towns to life.
To set up the generator, the developer utilized Unreal Engine 5 in combination with Apparance, a relatively obscure procedural generation system for UE4 and UE5 designed to allow the interactive visual authoring of detailed and expansive 3D worlds.
"In the past few years, I've pivoted towards more and more technical roles, and helped to Art Direct/develop a few games... so I've got lots of gamedev goodies and art to share this year," commented Oliver.
The creator plans to work on the game project throughout the year, sharing similar behind-the-scenes demos from time to time. We highly encourage you to follow Oliver on Twitter so as not to miss any future updates.
