THQ Nordic Creates Alkimia Interactive for Gothic Remake

Alkimia Interactive began operating last summer as a development studio for THQ Nordic and is based in Barcelona, Spain. This new studio will focus on RPGs starting with the Gothic Remake for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

In the statement shared by the publisher, it is said that the development of the remake is "well on the way", and that "...hard work the team has put in will be revealed in the next couple of months." The team is led by Reinhard Pollice, who also serves as THQ Nordic's business and product development director.

Alkimia Interactive is not the only studio that joined the publisher's family in recent times. THQ Nordic also acquired Purple Lamp Studios lately, which worked with the publisher on the remake of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Battle For Bikini Bottom.
