It introduces new features, such as stacking AI models, running tasks in parallel with filter support, and a command line interface.
In October, Topaz Labs released Video AI 3.0 (formerly known as Video Enhance AI) – an update to the software for upscaling, de-interlacing, motion interpolation, and shake stabilization. The new version was built from the ground up and includes new functionality, such as video stabilization, improved enhancement capabilities, and a better user experience.
Users can now enable more than one AI model in a single task: for example, they can upscale to 4K resolution while enabling stabilization and adding grain.
Additionally, users can do multiple tasks at the same time, like running different previews from multiple input video files with varying settings and exporting several projects simultaneously. Topaz Labs also added new filtering options so users can display process jobs for the video files and filter by output preview tasks, export tasks, or both.
Another new feature is support for executing scripts using a command line interface. "This is designed for advanced users comfortable working in such an environment and offers great flexibility in customizing various scripted processes to execute."
Moreover, Topaz Video AI 3.0 has new AI models: the stabilization model reduces shaky or jittery motion and the Apollo slow-motion model that is trained to handle non-linear motion and motion blurs.
Other changes include:
- Support for hardware encoding on all platforms for H264, H265, and AV1 (when available), along with higher-bit output formats such as ProRes 444.
- Improved colorspace support and color accuracy.
- Up to 16-bit color depth now supported.
- New cropping tool.
- New letterbox/pillarbox detection and removal tool.
- Improved trim tool.
- Ability to set default preview and export preferences.
- Support for all aspect ratios, including vertical video.
- Offline support allowing usage of the app when not connected to the internet. An internet connection is required to download new AI models.
- Ability to play preview videos in an external player app.
The software is compatible with AMD, Intel Arc and NVIDIA GPUs and costs $299.00 for new customers.
