Townscaper Adds Lighting Options & Flying Towns

The procedural tool by Oskar Stålberg just got even better.

In case you missed the news, Townscaper is an awesome procedural town builder from Oskar Stålberg that is basically a tech demo capable of creating all kinds of villages. The latest update to the game added the ability to tweak the sun position and introduced a number of other cool things.

The game now offers a lighting panel that lets you set up a sunset scene or even watch your town hide in the darkness of the night. Also, if you choose the night scenario, the game adds cool warm orange lights inside houses.

There's more: players get to build flying towns! "Apparently, it was always possible to create flying structures by finding rare perfect loops in the grid. With the new special grid sections there are many more such perfect loops to be found. And the flying structures now get little propellers to help them stay up without any legs," wrote Oskar.

Also, players got a button to take high-resolution screenshots, and more. You can learn all about the new version here. Don't forget to join our new Telegram channel where we'll be sharing breakdowns, latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
