Townscaper Developer Teases Possible VR Release Revealing Prototype
Townscaper developer Oskar Stålberg offered a glimpse of the early VR prototype of his town-building video game teasing a potential VR release.
Oskar Stålberg, the sole developer behind Townscaper, shared a video on Twitter demonstrating his experiments with VR controls, teasing a potential VR release of his town-building video game that was initially launched in 2020.
Townscaper is a little city builder experience with no real objective or a story that the developer describes as "more of a toy than a game" where players build peculiar little towns of various colors and shapes by placing and removing blocks on an ocean. With the help of an underlying algorithm, users get auto-generated city objects like buildings, arches, gardens, bridges, and stairways.
Stålberg hasn't really confirmed whether he'll definitely bring Townscaper to VR. Being asked what platform the developer's going to choose for this new VR experience or if he's planning to add VR support to Townscaper, Stålberg didn't provide a detailed answer just saying that he was “considering many things”.
