Ubisoft Games Return to Steam

The publisher's hit Viking adventure, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, will be available on the platform starting December 6.

Last week, several leaks suggested that Ubisoft games were returning to Steam. For instance, a Steam version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla was spotted in Ubisoft Connect's database. In addition, the company's free-to-play sports title Roller Champions was available to view on SteamDB for a short period of time.

All these leaks prompted speculation among fans that recently-released Ubisoft games that previously were only available via the company's own storefront, Ubisoft Connect, or Steam's rival Epic Games Store might be on the way to Valve's games distribution platform.

And now, Ubisoft officially confirmed that its games will soon launch via Steam. In a statement to Eurogamer, the publisher said that its games including 2020's Assassin's Creed Valhalla, team PvP sports game Roller Champions, and a city-building real-time strategy Anno 1800 will be released on the platform.

"We're constantly evaluating how to bring our games to different audiences wherever they are, while providing a consistent player ecosystem through Ubisoft Connect," a Ubisoft spokesperson told Eurogamer. "Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Anno 1800 and Roller Champions are among the Ubisoft titles that will be releasing on Steam."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Steam page has already appeared on the platform and it reads that the title will be available on Valve's PC storefront starting December 6, 2022. However, Ubisoft didn't specify when other games that it mentioned will make their way to the platform.
