It just hasn't shown it yet.
Ubisoft's Skull and Bones does not have it easy, with several delays and the studio's cancelations. However, the company has an "improved version" of the pirate game, according to chief financial officer Frederick Duguet, who revealed the still-hidden title during Ubisoft's quarterly financial call.
As noted by PC Gamer, the comment was a response to an investment analyst asking about the sales required for the game to turn a profit and then mentioning that Skull and Bones' reviews "don't look particularly strong".
It is true that players don't look too hopeful and enthusiastic after such a long wait, but Duguet believes opinions will change when Ubisoft shows the improvements it's made to the game.
"We said in January, we've been very happy with the playtest that we've seen in early January, so we have a very strong improved version to show to players that they haven't seen yet," he said. "So this is really what we are going to leverage in the next month to drive more momentum on the game."
Duguet didn't specify the date, but we hope to see the game soon.
