Introducing experimental support for 3D Gaussian Splatting, extensive performance optimizations, a visual in-game UI Designer, and more.
UNIGINE
The latest version of UNIGINE is here, packed with various enhancements, particularly in performance, UI, and VR/XR, along with some new features. UNIGINE 2.20 introduces experimental support for importing and rendering 3D Gaussian Splats via a dedicated plug-in, available in the Engineering and Sim SDK editions.
Numerous optimizations boost CPU performance, stability, loading times, and memory efficiency, reducing both RAM and VRAM usage. Upscaling capabilities have been significantly upgraded, delivering sharper visuals and better performance across platforms and rendering backends. DLSS now supports Vulkan on both Windows and Linux, while FSR technology is fully supported on Windows Vulkan. A new Octahedral mode for billboard impostor generation offers a more efficient and visually accurate alternative to the traditional Spherical mode.

VR and XR experiences also see major advancements, including eye tracking support in OpenXR, dynamic foveated rendering for all OpenXR runtimes, and basic mixed reality support for Oculus 3 and Varjo XR-3 via OpenXR.
Version 2.20 introduces UI Designer, transforming UI creation into a visual, drag-and-drop process, allowing users to build interfaces without writing code. With UI Designer, you can assemble layouts interactively and see changes live in the viewport. Also new in this release is the Runtime Editor, a lightweight, in-game tool for live debugging. It lets you inspect nodes, explore components, and run test scripts.
