Unity's ArtEngine 2021.5 is Officially Out
Unity Technologies has updated its AI-assisted artistry that helps create ultra-realistic materials.
Export Project is one of the new features added to ArtEngine 2021.5. It allows you to share your project as a .zip file with your collaborators. When you unzip the file, you need to open ArtEngine, go to File > Open, and select the .art file. Then you can modify the project however you like and use the Export Project feature again to share it back.
Another new tool Unity presents is the Feature Selector which speeds up and enhances mask generation. This node can generate a smart grid of super pixels – a cluster of similar pixels based on input parameters. With this smart cluster, you can create a mask of the desired area with utmost accuracy without spending too much time doing this.
Unity also updated the Multi-Angle to Texture (MATT) node, which now allows you to specify several parameters of your capture rig and get more precise results. You can set the Light Distance, Light Zenith Angle, Focal Point Distance, and Lateral FOV.
Lastly, thanks to the new command-line interface for pipeline integration, you do not need to open the application to perform ArtEngine tasks – instead, you can create a node graph, set an “in” and “out” folder, and the CLI tool will run in the background.
ArtEngine is available on Windows 8.1+ only. A compatible Nvidia GPU is required. ArtEngine is rental-only, and the price for the standard edition is $19 per seat/month which is a limited-time-only discount.
