Blender Studio has released a new tool that is designed to provide a compact and accessible overview of the status of a project and helps to visualize the status of a short film, episode, or film sequence and unpack as much information as needed. Meet Watchtower, a new web-based tool, born from what was originally a Blender add-on, that does exactly that. Watchtower is a visual film production tracking tool that basically allows a team to dissect a project and get all the necessary information from each scene, down to the duration of a shot and assets used in it.
Watchtower is also capable of fetching data from a live Kitsu web API or from JSON files. This means that the tool can be used in a production environment with user authentication or integrated with other task management software via JSON data interchange.
Features:
- Grid view (for shots and assets) with grouping and filtering tools
- Detail view, displaying shot or asset details
- Timeline showing individual shots as well as task statuses
- Compatible with Zou as data backend
- Watchtower is Free Software, available under the GPL3 license
