The game's developer, Nixalon Studios, showcased Western Rye's house-building system.
Indie game development team Nixalon Studios continues working on Western Rye, an upcoming Unreal Engine 5-powered co-op survival game inspired by Resident Evil 4 and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, presenting a cool new mechanic set to be present in the game upon its release.
This time, the devs offered a look at the title's house-building system that enables the player to create and customize their house, add windows, build fences, arrange furniture, and more to create a perfect Wild West sanctuary. According to the team, the mechanic was primarily built using Easy Building System, an advanced framework for Unreal Engine packed with features designed for multiplayer gameplay.
As for the game itself, in Western Rye, players must scavenge for resources, trade, craft new weapons and gear, and form alliances with other people in order to survive. Whether you want to be a hunter, a winemaker, a painter, a scavenger, a lumberjack, a bandit, a trader, a bounty hunter, or a gold digger, the game lets you experience all these roles. Additionally, you can personalize your cowboy with a range of hats, coats, jackets, eye patches, and unique masks found throughout the game.
"Featuring stunning visuals, immersive gameplay, and an epic story, our Wild West post-apocalyptic game is a must-play for fans of western, action, adventure, and survival games," says the team. "An untamed west from the wildest of lore, a world stricken by a mysterious plague the 'Rye Fever'. Play with friends or alone as you craft your own adventure, explore western towns, deserted towns sprawling with the undead, unforgiving deserts, and whatever lies in between."
