Windows 11 Is Used On Over 400M Monthly Active Devices

Microsoft's latest operating system couldn't beat the Windows 10 record yet though.

A new report shares that Windows 11 is being used on 400 million devices per month two years after its release. The post also claims that this number of active users surpassed Microsoft's expectations. However, the number is still lower compared to the previous version of the operating system.

It took Windows 11 just over a year after its release to reach the milestone of 400 million devices. The eleventh version of the popular operating system was released two years ago back in October 2021.

Data by Windows Central claims that by early 2024, there will be more than 500 million active devices running Windows 11 per month. Analysts are not sure though whether Windows 11 can reach the billion mark previously achieved by Windows 10.

The thing here is that only users whose PCs met the minimum requirements could upgrade to Windows 11 for free. The requirements included processors released no earlier than 2018 and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) support – not all Windows 10 users could upgrade as a result.
