The meeting aimed to introduce the two teams to each other and foster collaboration on shared projects.
The Xbox Game Studios team for the first time visited Kojima Productions. The two teams took to social media to share their meet-up experience through photos and videos.
Photos from the meeting were first shared by studio head Hideo Kojima and were later reposted by vice president of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg. According to Greenberg, the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the two teams to each other with the aim of collaborating on mutual projects.
"Our first visit to Kojima Productions with our Xbox Game Studios Publishing teams. Bringing engineering, cloud, marketing & production teams together to kick-off an exciting journey ahead," Greenberg wrote.
Additionally, the head of marketing shared a short video of when his team visited Kojima Productions' new office and met the renowned game designer.
In June 2022, it was revealed that Kojima Productions is creating a cloud-based project for the Xbox, although a full-fledged announcement of the game is yet to be made. According to Kojima, this project is set to use Microsoft's "cutting-edge technology" and "change in the industry's trends." He also noted that it is going to be a "completely new game one that no one has ever experienced or seen before."
