YouTube announced its new AI-powered feature for ad placement in videos.
This Wednesday, at the recent YouTube's annual Upfront event Brandcast, the company's representatives explained that the new product, titled Peak Points, is a built-in feature of Google's Gemini, which will identify the most meaningful, or "peak" moments within the video. These moments, at which the viewers are the most engaged with the content, will be advised for brands as suitable spots for placing their ads.
While the new approach offers a logical solution for companies, the audiences might find ads intrusive when they appear just as the viewers become deeply engaged in the video's content.
Also, at Brandcast, YouTube announced a range of other innovative functions, including Cultural Moments Sponsorships, Kickoff Weekend, Masthead on CTV, and Shoppable CTV.
