Mobile Games  2D & 3D Art Direction

Department:  Creative

Reports to:  CEO / Product

Location:  Remote — MENA region preferred

Type:  Full-time

Direct reports:  Art team (3D, 2D, animation, UI)

Team size context:  Small, senior-weighted art team

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Lead Artist to own the visual direction and art quality of our mobile game portfolio — live titles, an upcoming launch, and games still in development. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set the artistic bar, lead a small team of 3D and 2D artists, and build an efficient, modern production pipeline that increasingly leverages AI tooling to deliver more, faster, without sacrificing quality.

You'll work closely with product, design, and engineering, and report directly into leadership — this is a role with real influence over how our games look and feel, not just a production seat.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Define and own the visual style and art-quality bar across all titles — mobile-first, performance-aware, and commercially sharp.
  • Lead, review, and mentor the art team across 3D modeling/animation and 2D illustration/UI art.
  • Build and continuously improve an efficient art pipeline, including AI-assisted tools for concepting and 2D asset production.
  • Plan art production schedules that keep pace with product and live-ops timelines.
  • Partner with product, game design, and engineering to ensure visual consistency and polish from concept through ship.
  • Give clear, actionable feedback that raises the bar without slowing the team down.
  • Help scope and prioritize art work across multiple projects running in parallel.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience as a senior artist or art lead in mobile games — shipped titles required.
  • Strong, versatile skills across both 2D and 3D art — you don't need to be equally hands-on in both today, but you understand both crafts well enough to direct and evaluate them.
  • Team-leadership experience: you've led, mentored, or directed other artists before, not just produced your own work.
  • Hands-on knowledge of a modern art production pipeline, including where AI tools (generative art, upscaling, concepting) fit in without compromising quality or style consistency.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating range, polish, and mobile-appropriate optimization (performance, file size, platform constraints).
  • Comfortable owning ambiguity — this is a growing team, and you'll help shape process, not just follow it.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with leadership and cross-functional teams.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience art-directing a live mobile game (post-launch content, events, seasonal art).
  • Familiarity with Arabic-market or MENA-region mobile games and player aesthetics.
  • Experience building or scaling an art team from a small base.

Location: we have a strong preference for candidates based within the MENA region timezone, ideally in a time zone closely aligned with our core team, to support real-time collaboration and review cycles.
