Obsidian Entertainment is looking for a talented and self-motivated Character Artist to join our growing team of RPG developers.
Responsibilities:
- Sculpt, model, and UV meshes, as well as create textures and materials for AAA-quality characters and creatures
- Work closely with art leads to ensure visual targets are met and stylistically consistent
- Participate in technical and aesthetic problem-solving discussions for the entire project
- Evolve and maintain an effective character asset pipeline to produce content for an RPG
Requirements:
- 8+ years of game industry experience with 1 shipped title as a Character Artist
- Proficiency in Maya, Z-Brush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, and Photoshop
- Strong high and low poly modeling skills
- Demonstrable experience using Unreal Engine 5.x at a senior level
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, clothing creation tools, and animal anatomy
- Experience managing and coaching employees
Pluses:
- Texture and shader creation skills within a PBR pipeline
- Knowledge of rig creation and skinning
- Character and prop conceptual design skills
