As a Product Manager working with the technology at IO Interactive, you will play a central role in shaping the road map, feature set and delivering the vision for our proprietary game engine, Glacier, that for 2 decades has contributed to shaping the game development world.
What you will do:
- Be part of the Glacier Product group, owning and evolving the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the Glacier Game Engine, ensuring alignment with the company’s game development goals and long-term technology strategy.
- Work closely with engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver engine features, workflow improvements, and technical innovations that empower game teams and content creators.
- Help envision and design industry-defining UX and UI experiences for game development tools and workflows. Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements to support high-quality implementation and usability.
- Act as a liaison between game teams and the engine development team, gathering requirements and ensuring the engine supports both creative ambitions and technical needs across projects.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth integration of engine improvements into the game development pipeline and production workflows.
- Champion the needs of developers and content creators by advocating for intuitive user experiences, workflow efficiency, and best-in-class tooling.
- Continuously assess market trends, competitor technologies, and industry advancements to help shape the future evolution of the Glacier engine.
- Communicate progress, priorities, risks, and updates clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency across teams.
Who you are:
- Experience as a Product Manager or in a related role within the games industry, ideally with experience in game engines, developer tools, or technical product development.
- Strong understanding of usability, UX/UI principles, and workflows within game engines and game development pipelines.
- Passion for UX, innovation, and driving technical excellence in game development tools and technology.
- Ability to translate complex problems and user needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and actionable development priorities.
- Natural curiosity for emerging technologies, workflows, and solutions that improve the developer and creator experience.
