Job Description:

 

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a Senior Surfacing Artist for its Cinematics department. You have experience working with painting tools to achieve a range of stylized to photo-real surfaces as well as look development experience setting up shaders to achieve a variety of material properties. You are organized and creative, with the ability to solve problems efficiently.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

 

  • Focus on surfacing assets in a collaborative production environment and entrusted with the more difficult assets in the pipeline
  • Work through technical art production, modeling, texturing, rendering, and UV unwrapping workflows
  • Work closely with the character team, technical artists, and the production team to determine surfacing needs and create textures based on those needs

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Experience:

 

  • 8+ Years working in Animation/VFX/Games as a Surfacing Artist or Look Development
  • 5+ Years experience working with Mari and/or Substance Painter
  • 5+ Years experience working with Katana
  • Experience working in production with Renderers like PRMan, Redshift, or similar
