Arkwiz is building Geos — a platform that automatically generates immersive 3D environments from GIS data, used for architectural, infrastructure, and construction visualization. Our pipeline consists of Houdini as the main content generator, Unreal for asset placement and interactivity, and pixel streaming as the method of delivery. We're based in Norway, and partners with Geodata AS.

We're looking for an Unreal Engine developer to take ownership of the interactive side of things.

As a small team, we are dependent on generalists who already possess several of the skillsets that matter to us. Some examples:

  • Develop PCG systems with a focus on GPU computation- Create interactive tools for runtime functionality like object placement, scene navigation, user-controlled materials, landscape alterations using dynamic meshes, and more.
  • Landscape materials, master materials, material functions, HLSL, in conjunction with the Houdini data and PCG.
  • Optimization of render pipelines, assets, and other settings that assure a steady performance on our target streaming hardware.
  • Runtime messaging with the frontend.- Backend messaging for storing and retrieving assets like materials, PAK files, uassets, images, and more.
  • Supporting the Houdini side of things by building systems that utilize the points and geometries that come out of the procedural pipeline. No prior Houdini knowledge needed.
  • BP's and C++

We're looking for developers who are self-motivated and able to work independently towards a defined goal. The surrounding team consists of a project manager, a former SideFX developer, a dedicated Houdini artist, an API and backend developer, and the wider team at Geodata.

We're based in Norway, but fully remote position are not a problem, although EU timezones are preferred.You can expect to have a lot of influence and creative freedom. We work in two-week sprints, manage our work on Slack, Linear, and GitBook, and we strive to have as little admin as possible.

The position will be contract work at first, but the goal is a full-time position. We can offer competitive compensation, 40 hour weeks, and the possibility of EOR arrangements when transitioning to full-time.

If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]. To submit your application, please use the form at www.arkwiz.no/joinus. Only submissions through the form will be considered. We are reviewing candidates throughout August, with the goal of starting with contract work in September.
