This position will be responsible for writing and editing scripts for video production, including game trailers and marketing, advertising, and social media projects.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Conceptualizes and writes content and messaging for internal users and/or consumers that is technically accurate, relevant, and ensures consumer satisfaction while maintaining the Nintendo brand.
- Collaborates with Original Content and Game Assets Producers to write, proof, and edit scripts in Nintendo’s distinctive style and voice.
- Assists with creative writing support including original content and localization scripts.
- Studies game briefs, campaign plans, and works with product and marketing team members to ensure game accuracy and key messages in scripts.
- Provides input and ideation during original content brainstorming sessions alongside other internal teams in support of product launch and other marketing initiatives.
- Collaborates with Advertising team to conceptualize and develop trailers for TV, web, and cinemas.
- Assists with tone development and direction of voice recording sessions.
- Works with senior members of Content Lab as well as Development and Localization teams to gain knowledge on previous games in franchises.
- Collaborates with AV producers in developing copy and on-screen text for video projects.
- Generates supporting copy for websites, social media, and other consumer-facing portals.
- Reviews and provides feedback on content written by others.
- Proofreads and performs copy QA.
- Collaborates across NOA, regional, and global teams to ensure accuracy, awareness, creative direction, and key messages are aligned.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional marketing or creative writing experience.
- Strong knowledge of the video game industry.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong technical or creative writing skills, in-depth knowledge of grammar and spelling mandatory.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Experience with large, well-known consumer brands, and/or agency is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree, and/or professional certification in English, Communications, Journalism, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
