25 Minutes of Final Fantasy XVI's Gameplay Revealed

The new trailer shared during Sony's State of Play showcased the upcoming RPG's game world and combat mechanics.

With Final Fantasy XVI's release date being just around the corner, Sony has recently conducted a State of Play dedicated entirely to the new installment in Square Enix's FF series, revealing 25 minutes of the upcoming RPG's gameplay.

Offering an in-depth look at the game, both story- and gameplay-wise, the new trailer showcased FFXVI's support system, RPG elements, crafting mechanics, Valisthea's mesmerizing locations, including Clive's Hideout, which serves as the protagonist's base camp throughout the game, characters, quests and side quests, and more.

On top of that, the title's incredible combat mechanics have also been shown, demonstrating Clive's stylish fighting abilities and his clashes with the Eikons themselves, who can be fought to get their abilities.

Final Fantasy XVI is set to be released on June 22, 2023, for PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive. You can learn more and pre-order the game here.
