343 Industries Admits Halo Infinite Season Two Launch Turned Out to Be "Bumpy"

The studio acknowledged the problematic launch of Halo Infinite's second season and promised to "review options".

The second season of Halo Infinite kicked off last week, bringing great new updates to the game like new maps (Catalyst and Breaker) and new multiplayer modes like King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing.

Although since the launch, players have also come across several game-breaking bugs. For example, one causes semi-automatic weapons to stop working right in the middle of a fight. There were also issues with Last Spartan Standing challenges that weren’t tracking properly. Besides, a number of traversal techniques and speedrunning tactics were removed from the game.

Three days after the season 2 launch, the developer commented on the situation and acknowledged the game's issues, assuring that the studio will listen to the fans' feedback and promising to "review options".

"Hey Spartans, this week has been bumpy," head creative for Halo Infinite Joseph Staten wrote on Twitter. "That definitely wasn't our goal. We are indeed taking your feedback to heart, especially regarding map jumps and speedrunning."

"We’ve seen the feedback around changes that impacted various multiplayer jumps and campaign speedrun strategies," senior community manager at 343 Industries Junyszek said. "We’re not at the point where we can promise anything yet, but want to be transparent and say that we’re taking the feedback seriously and reviewing options internally."

It remains to be seen whether all the bugs will be fixed and speedrun strategies will be brought back. Meanwhile, 343 Industries is trying to make it up for the players by giving them five XP Boosts and five Challenge Swaps. The studio said it will also reduce the difficulty of certain Event Challenges and noted that completing them earns players 2 levels on the Event Pass.
