3D Animator Showcased Ballerina Take With Almost Physical CoG

Siavash Khodaie shared his new technical approach, using a custom CoG node for the demonstration.

Technical Character Animator Siavash Khodaie presented a Ballerina animation with almost a physical center of gravity, employing a CoG node developed by VAYO Tech Studio, highlighting his latest technical method in animation.

As the artist explained, the Ballerina was made originally in-place, meaning she moved forward with the root controller. The goal here is to share what he's learned while working on his showreel, without focusing on polishing issues.

"You can easily make any animation in-place using layers. The in-place itself isn't perfect too! Needs some tweaks, but I thought it would take time and wouldn't give much!", commented Siavash Khodaie.

VAYO Tech Studio's approach utilized nodes, allowing the user to port the rig and animation and handling the rest. If you're interested in this technique, check out these real-time procedural character animation demos and stay tuned for more:
