3D Artist Shared Tips on How to Achieve 2D Aesthetic in VFX

Technical and VFX Artist Jinyi Shao, also known as DoubleCats, shared a useful tutorial on crafting stylized VFX for artists looking to enhance their effects with a 2D animation-inspired look.

In the video, the creator shared tips on achieving a hand-drawn aesthetic in visual effects. The artist explained that the key technique involves using a ring VFX placed beneath the camera, which moves dynamically along with it. Then, the effect is further adjusted using a mask.
