3D Artist Daniel Schroeder, the creator of a custom voxel displacement renderer inspired by the graphics of games such as DOOM and Quake, shared an update on the tool.
The artist explained that last year, he focused on handling simpler environment geometry, achieving an efficient workflow for structures and terrain. Now, the creator concentrates on adding elements like foliage, small props, or animated characters through voxelizing detailed triangle meshes, producing voxel meshes that match the aesthetic of the environment geometry.
