3D Artist Showcased Halftone Effect Made with Blender Viewport

Motion Designer James Redmond experimented with the updated compositor.

In a recent Twitter post, Motion Designer James Redmond, also known as Redjam9, showed a demo with a halftone dot effect created directly in the Blender viewport, leveraging new features introduced in Blender 4.5's compositor. 

The new way to create a halftone dot effect, reminiscent of comic book-style dotted shading, is possible because of new features in the software. With Blender 4.5's updated compositor, such effects can now be integrated seamlessly into the viewport. Thus, complex effects like the demonstrated one can be seen as you work.

The artist shared the node setup and clarified that the feature will only function in 4.5 alpha as it requires the new image info and vector math nodes.
