Today, let's take a look at a series of mind-blowing animation experiments shared over the past few days by 3D Character Artist Floreum on Twitter. Known for utilizing ZBrush and Blender in their pipeline, the artist sought to learn more about the capabilities of the latter, wondering whether it was possible to control UV points with Geometry Nodes. As it turned out, it sure was, with the demo showcase unveiled by the creator depicting something you don't see every day: animated UVs.
Following the initial experiment, Floreum also discovered a neat method to make UV shape keys using Animall, a built-in Blender add-on that lets the user animate mesh, lattice, curve, and surface data. Moreover, as Twitter user DigitalGreenTea pointed out in the comments, it is possible to export UV animations from Animall as Alembic files, allowing for a rather obscure way to set up animations with Blender. You can check out the original posts and learn more about this peculiar method by visiting Floreum's Twitter page.
