3D Artist Showed a WIP Tool for Ivy Generation in UE5
Mohsen Tabasi shared an update focusing on the growth.
Senior Technical Artist Mohsen Tabasi shared a new update on his WIP Ivy Generator, a tool for Unreal Engine based on the Space Colonization Algorithm.
The recent upgrade focuses on the ivy's growth. According to the artist, he used Geometry Scripting and saved branch length and spawn time into a new UV channel during StaticMesh export. Then, the creator used that data in a custom shader to animate ivy growth over time.
Earlier, Mohsen Tabasi shared other updates on the instrument. For example, the previous one focused on sub-branch generation, size filtering to remove short branches, and merging & exporting to save ivy as a new static mesh:
Mohsen Tabasi has been creating plenty of useful tools for Unreal Engine, such as StatWatch, a Centralized Command Hub for Game Performance Analysis; a Landmass brush with an integrated PCG graph, and more:
Before, the artist showcased a Stable Diffusion-powered custom tool for Houdini with updates:
