Have a look at this awesome 2D animation of a lava cube that looks like 3D. The project was created by artist Alla Mingalyova in Rive, a design and animation app.

Rive's founder Guido Rosso, who shared the cube on Twitter, said that there is no 3D involved in the project, "just simple mesh deformations with some floaty elements in front to add to the effect".
