40% of Hogwarts Legacy Players in February Were North American Gamers

The game is also most popular among male players in the age group between 10 and 17 years old.

Hogwarts Legacy, released in February of this year, has already achieved tremendous commercial success and garnered a large player base. In a recently released report, Newzoo has shed light on what the game's audience is like as well as provided some other information on the title, including its revenue and number of monthly active users.

According to the firm, Hogwarts Legacy has generated over a billion dollars in revenue, making it Portkey's highest-grossing title to date. It even matched the first two-week sales performance of last year's hit, Elden Ring.

The report claims that Hogwarts Legacy ranked fifth in terms of MAU across PC and console platforms after its release. In February, it was outperformed by only four titles: Fortnite, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto V.

Currently, Hogwarts Legacy is most popular on PC, in part due to the limited install base of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, this could shift once the game launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May and on Nintendo Switch in July.

Hogwarts Legacy was not only popular among players but also garnered significant attention from viewers. The game claimed the fourth spot as the most-viewed title on the Twitch platform in February, with a total of 76.2 million viewership hours.

The game's top five markets in terms of MAU were the US, Germany, the UK, Russia, and France. In February, over 70% of MAUs were concentrated in North America and Western Europe, with 40% in North America and 31% in Western Europe.

Nearly two-thirds of Hogwarts Legacy players were male, while only 34% were female. The game was most popular among male players aged 10 to 17 and 25 to 34, with the largest group of female players being in the 25 to 34 age range, but accounting for only 13% of the player base.
