505 Games 2022 showcase revealed some interesting titles the studio is going to publish, including Among the Trolls, Stray Blade, Miasma Chronicles, and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising.
Among the Trolls
Among the Trolls is a first-person survival action-adventure game set in Finnish forests. Embark on a quest to find your missing grandparents and learn how to survive in the wilderness, dealing with the supernatural creatures of Finnish mythology and the animistic nature of the world.
The game is developed by Forbidden Studios consisting of former Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Vampire: The Masquerade developers. Among the Trolls is said to be inspired by Studio Ghibli. It's made in Unity because the team has 'vast experience' in using the engine in other games. You can already add the game to your Steam wishlist to get it in Early Access later this year.
Stray Blade
Stray Blade is an action RPG developed by Point Blank Games in which you will experience "a hyper-responsive combat system and epic boss fights." The main character is an anthropologist from another land, travelling the world on his journey to the lost valley of Acrea where he explores the ancient ruins of a mysterious civilization. You will be accompanied by Boji, an enhanced animal companion known as a ‘Xhinnon wolf’.
"Combat in Stray Blade is fast, deadly, and a tad brutal for all parties involved. Fortunately, Boji develops together with the player."
The game features skill trees for you and Boji. Every new weapon you craft can be mastered, which will unlock new parts of the skill tree. You are not bound to just one type of weapon, you can use whatever you like.
By beating bosses, you get abilities and open new paths, so you can come back to an already explored area and find something new.
Stray Blade will be released in 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. You can wishlist it on Steam.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising
Created by the Suikoden series' developers, the game is the companion title to the upcoming JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which was the most backed game on Kickstarter in 2020. Rising is an action RPG featuring town-upgrading mechanics and fast-paced combat that offers you a glimpse of Hundred Heroes characters' backstory. You can already buy it on Steam.
The creators promise you will be able to transfer many unlockable items from Rising to Hundred Heroes when it comes out in 2023. The game is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Miasma Chronicles
Left for dessert, this game tells the story of a young man and his robot brother exploring a post-apocalyptic wasteland to find the answers that may change the course of human history. It's developed by The Bearded Ladies, the creator of Mutant Year Zero, and offers tactical, turn-based combat with RPG elements.
The game is expected to be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
