Senior Environment Artist at Cold Symmetry

We’re looking for like-minded individuals—ambitious, creative risk-takers who pour their heart and soul into crafting games they love and want to play.

As a Senior Environment Artist, you will play a critical role in defining the look and feel of the game’s environments. You will collaborate with designers, other artists, and technical teams to create visually stunning, atmospheric, and immersive settings. Your expertise will help establish a cohesive visual style while ensuring optimal performance and playability.

Your XP and Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development, with at least one shipped title as an Environment Artist.
  • Deep passion for video games, with familiarity and enthusiasm for projects like Mortal Shell.
  • Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
  • Advanced texturing skills using tools like Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Designer, or Photoshop.
  • Extensive knowledge of Unreal Engine and its environment creation tools.
  • Strong understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) techniques and workflows.
  • Proven ability to create realistic, high-quality 3D assets from concept to final implementation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to crafting immersive game environments.
  • A professional portfolio showcasing a wide range of environment artwork, including shipped titles.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, capable of working independently within a fully distributed and asynchronous team to meet deadlines and milestone requirements.

Environment Artist III (NST) at Nintendo of America

As an Environment Artist III, you will have proven Substance 3D Designer experience and a deep passion for stylized texture authoring for hard surface and organic subjects. You’ll also have a history of working directly with art leadership to visualize and develop visual targets and have mentored less experienced artists on the team. 

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of professional experience in game development.
  • Proven artistic and technical skills in 3D and or 2D art production.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate techniques to other members of the team.
  • Experienced with game development pipelines and game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity, or a proprietary engine)
  • Proven proficiency with commercial art production software (e.g., Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in art or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

VFX Artist at Electronic Arts

You will create industry-leading and stunning visual effects for our games and cinematic moments; you will partner closely with art, design, and animation to understand requirements and ensure VFX match the quality bar and vision for the game; you will implement, polish, and refine your work based on feedback, concept, and direction and communicate the best process and technique to the VFX team; you will create FX assets using EA's proprietary game engine, according to the agreed design and within the constraints of the target hardware and software.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as a real-time FX artist in the industry
  • Strong understanding of real-time VFX pipeline
  • Experience in Game Engine (Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary)
  • Proficient in crafting high-quality, optimized VFX assets for environments, characters, vehicles, gameplay, and cinematics in games
  • Proficient in using Houdini, Maya, EmberGen for 3D authoring and fluid sim to generate source textures and models
  • Strong knowledge of level effects, lighting, color, form, and timing
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well in a team and communicate with other disciplines

Senior Technical Artist at Tencent

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Technical Artist to join our in-house team at Lightspeed LA and contribute to the creation of world-class visuals and technical art solutions for a new and exciting open-world AAA game. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can bring their passion and expertise to the role, collaborating closely with artists, engineers, and other disciplinary teams, to create innovative and efficient workflows and techniques for our game development. Below is an outline of responsibilities and some of the qualities we look for in the ideal teammate.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of the content creation pipeline, including modeling, UV mapping, texturing, shading, lighting, FX, rigging, and animation.
  • Demonstrable experience with modern game content creation workflows.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist on shipped AAA titles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Solid background in digital art (modeling, shading, lighting, VFX).
  • Profound knowledge of Unreal Tech, including material creation and Blueprints.
  • Strong proficiency in Linear Algebra and Calculus is essential for advanced 3D technology applications.
  • Understanding of real-time physically based materials and rendering (PBR).

Character Artist at Square Enix

As a character artist/3D character designer, you will be responsible for creating characters and building workflows for one of the various projects within the company, such as the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, new HD title development projects, and new mobile title development projects.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Practical experience in character modeling using DCC tools (not limited to games)
  • Experience creating 3D characters in game development equivalent to current generation consoles
  • Experience building workflows
  • Experience with lighting
  • Experience with Maya and ZBrush
  • Experience using Substance 3D and Marvelous Designer
  • Experience negotiating with other sections and partner companies

Art Lead, Concept Art (VALORANT, Characters) at Riot Games

As Manager, Concept Art for Characters on VALORANT, you are responsible for concept art on agents from initial ideation through to production, ensuring their cohesion in style and quality supports VALORANT’s art direction and gameplay. You will partner closely with Art Leads to ensure your team collaborates effectively across disciplines to deliver iconic, creative, and resonant Agents that amplify gameplay for players. You will report to the Character Art Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience leading character-focused concept art teams in game development
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, form, and color theory
  • Ability to create stylized characters through past professional or personal work samples

Senior 3D Artist at SEGA

You will work with the Lead Artist to be another representative and champion of the art direction, quality, and standards for our games; you will work with the Production team to support the planning of the art requirements of our games, with a focus on 3D art, so that we have a realistic view of what’s required and a plan to deliver it across the game’s development; you will work with the Production team to deliver the milestones and sprints for our games, and the required 3D art and assets.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: 

  • Significant experience as an artist within the games industry, with a focus on 3D art.
  • A team player who is passionate about working with design to make the best game in terms of art and gameplay.
  • A passion to develop, mentor and support others.
  • Fast and efficient 3D modeller.
  • A creative eye and care for art direction in your own work and the work of your team.
  • Able to work on new ideas from briefs rather than just following concept art.
  • Knowledge of major 3D software packages (Maya is preferred).
  • Experience with Unity or other recognised game engines.
  • Experience with Adobe Substance Painter (Designer is a plus).
  • Able to communicate effectively with fellow artists, designers and programmers.
  • Establish technical guidelines for the creation of assets.
  • Real passion for making game art.
