Technical Artist (Contract, Global) at LILA Games

LILA Games is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Artist to join the team. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between art and engineering, ensuring that its games look visually stunning while maintaining optimal performance. You will work closely with the art and engineering teams to develop and implement tools, workflows, and pipelines that enhance the visual quality and efficiency of our game development process.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of writing tools in Unity, Maya, and Blender.
  • Strong knowledge in building shaders and VFX in and for Unity using Shader Graph.
  • Good understanding of the technical implementation of customizable systems like character customization and weapon skins.
  • Experience in a full digital art content creation pipeline (high and low-poly modeling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, level art).
  • Experience in at least 3 mobile game titles as a Tech Artist
  • Ability to optimize art in engine and the art pipeline, and create tools to automate manual processes
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of HLSL

Art Director at LILA Games

As Art Director, you’ll lead the visual direction of LILA's games, ensuring a consistent and compelling art style that enhances gameplay. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage the art pipeline, and guide the art team to deliver high-quality assets. Additionally, you’ll mentor artists and drive key art decisions to bring the game’s vision to life.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience as an art director, senior concept artist, or lead artist on AAA console/PC projects (mobile game experience is a huge plus)
  • Ability to hold the vision of the game across multiple elements like Environment art, Characters, VFX, UI, Animation styles and Marketing art.
  • Strong understanding of game engines (Unreal/Unity), and proficiency with industry-standard creative tools (Maya, Photoshop, Substance 3D, etc.).
  • Experience guiding concept artists to create visuals that enhance player experience and readability.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with game designers, ensuring art direction aligns with mechanics and level design.
  • Experience in creating or overseeing concept art for games, with a focus on functional, gameplay-driven design.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, color theory, lighting, and composition.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles and how art impacts gameplay.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to provide clear feedback and inspire creativity across teams.
  • Experience managing art production pipelines and delivery of high-quality assets.

FX Artist at Epic Games

Epic is looking for an FX Artist to join our team working on Fortnite. A successful candidate should have a strong sense of dramatic effects and an understanding of how to recreate them in a real-time particle editor. They will be first and foremost a team player, while also having the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously. If you have a strong sense of weight, timing, motion, and you demonstrate technical aptitude with Materials and Logic, then we are ready for you to bring those abilities to execute outstanding FX in our games.

What we're looking for:

  • Must have a strong reel/portfolio showing executed real-time FX work
  • Experience with Unreal is preferred
  • You have a critical eye for the timing, animation, and motion of real-world objects and visual FX, with an ability to bring dramatic FX to life with flair
  • Ability to create all the art needed for the FX
  • Desire to work with a team, share knowledge, and grow together
  • Shipped multiple titles within the game industry
  • Strong desire to learn new techniques, and grow tools and pipeline
  • Experience working on a live-service game is a plus

Senior Technical Artist: Animation at Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games is looking for a passionate Senior Technical Artist to work with our award-winning development team. You will have the opportunity to develop new tools and technologies, improve pipelines, and manage complex workflows for the vast amount of files and assets that make up our games.

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist or similar role, writing tools.
  • Experience working through a full production cycle of a released game or equivalent experience working on long-term projects or toolsets.
  • Experience mentoring more junior team members.
  • A strong understanding of coding UI using PySide or PyQt.
  • An understanding of the underlying math that 3d animation systems utilize.

Rocksteady is looking for a Lead UI Artist: the ideal candidate will possess both experience with and passion for creating high-quality user interfaces that enable an intuitive, accessible, and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge and application of UX.
  • Accessibility & player-focused design principles – through work in complex game projects, ideally with AAA targets.
  • Demonstrable professional graphic design skills – particularly layout, typography, and colour theory application.
  • Proficient experience in a AAA games leadership role.

Junior VFX Artist at Nintendo of America

We are looking for a Junior VFX Artist to join our team at Next Level Games. As a Junior VFX Artist joining the VFX team at NLG, you will collaborate with the Art Director, VFX Lead, and Game Designers to create effects that fulfill the art vision for the project, work with Game Designers to support gameplay via effects, work with the presentation team to create cinematic effects, and create VFX assets using our in-house engine and tools.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a VFX Artist
  • Include Portfolio demonstrating strong real-time FX artwork and ability
  • Proficient understanding of particle systems
  • Experience with authoring materials/shaders (Unreal/ Unity) 
  • Ability to create models/UV maps/textures for VFX using (Maya/Blender/Photoshop/Substance 3D) 
  • Experience with simulations (rigid body, fluid, smoke, fire, etc.) 
  • Good understanding of animation and timing 
  • Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team/department performance
