A Behind-the-Scenes Look At Riven Remake Development

Cyan Worlds' Creative Director Eric Anderson shared some R&D for the classic puzzle adventure Riven remake released last week.

Last week, the developers of the award-winning puzzle adventure Riven, the sequel to Myst, remembered fondly from the early PC gaming era, launched a highly-anticipated Riven remake with Very Positive Steam reviews so far.

To celebrate the release, Eric Anderson of Cyan Worlds shared some making-of content, including this beautiful procedural Fire Marble shader look dev video demo, and talked about raymarching, revealing that it was only used in the game for the toy in Gehn's lab on Boiler Island:
