As some of you may already know, Gabe Newell, the legendary Game Designer and President of Valve, occasionally responds to fan emails sent to his "gaben" email address.
A Counter-Strike: Global Offensive enthusiast and an aspiring YouTuber Kris Bizzy, known as wutang_72 on Reddit, has recently recounted a heartwarming story of how he sent a "thank you" letter to Newell, and not only did the esteemed head of Valve read the letter, but he also responded with his own thanks in return.
"I heard that [Gabe Newell] replies to emails, so I sent him a huge email (still have the thread) and was thanking him and his company/staff for creating an awesome game that I have been playing for 9 years and giving me an opportunity to make a lot of long term friends and great memories/videos," reads Kris' story. "Sent him a video from my YouTube, he replied saying he liked it and was watching more of them and linked the ones he was watching off my YouTube, CC'd Ido Magal and they were asking me for feedback on my experience of playing the CS2 beta."
According to Kris, the conversation with Gabe Newell and Ido Magal took place a couple of months ago. The developers regretted being unable to offer the fan a tour but were eager to provide Kris with "something special" as a gesture.
After some time, Kris received a package containing CS:GO-themed cargo pants, a mousepad with Valve developers' signatures, and a heartfelt letter expressing gratitude for Kris' unwavering dedication to Counter-Strike.
