Users will be able to simulate large water surfaces with realistic, dynamic foam generation.
Sitni Sati has released two previews of an upcoming update to FumeFX, its multiphysics plug-in for 3ds Max, Maya, and Cinema 4D. Powered by NodeWorks, the node-based procedural system introduced in FumeFX 6.0, Ocean tools are said to enable the creation of large water surfaces with a high level of artistic control and dynamic foam generation, seamlessly integrated with wave motion.
While details are still limited, the toolset is expected to handle everything from the smallest ripple to the most powerful waves. Have a look at another demo below:
The most recent update, FumeFX 6.7.2 for 3ds Max, was released in May and features a completely rewritten Voxel Data Display system, delivering over 10 times faster viewport performance for smoother and more responsive interaction. A new opacity mode now allows for channel-based transparency, helping users better visualize key simulation details.
The Maya and Cinema 4D versions remain at 6.0, suggesting that the new ocean tools will likely debut on 3ds Max first.
