A Man Sends 39 Bomb Threats to Nintendo Over Losing in Splatoon

One guy's lack of skill has lost the developer around $4.35 million.

No matter how stoic and unemotional a gamer might be, I guess we've all experienced the frustration of losing a match at some point in time, sometimes leading to the destruction of keyboards, controllers, monitors, headphones, furniture, and anything else nearby in a fit of uncontrollable rage. Typically, however, such outbursts result only in minor financial damages, and never are they even comparable to the case of Kenshin Kazama, whose lack of skill in Splatoon 3 cost Nintendo a staggering ¥700 million.

As noticed by Twitter user OatmealDome, Kenshin, who earlier promised to "make [Nintendo] regret bringing such a sh*tty game into this world", appeared in court last week, admitting to having sent 39 bomb threats to Nintendo and explaining that his bizarre actions stemmed from feeling stressed over losing matches in Splatoon 3. "I got more and more frustrated when I kept losing," the accused stated during the trial.

Pointing out that "there is no room for leniency for a childish motive", the prosecution has requested a minimum one-year prison sentence for Kenshin, with the final verdict scheduled to be delivered on July 24. Additionally, the prosecution claimed that Nintendo has suffered ¥700 million (approximately $4.35 million) in damages due to those threats, likely resulting from the cancellation of a few in-person events.

Speaking of Nintendo and lawsuits, a court document from the 1980s has recently resurfaced online, revealing some of the possible names Nintendo considered for Donkey Kong. According to the document, the first member of the D.K. crew could have been named Custom Kong, Kong Boy, or even Kong Dong. You can check out more hilarious examples by clicking this link.
