A New Framework for Large-Scale Fluid Simulations in Houdini

The solver allows one to set up fluid simulations with over a billion particles.

Developers from the KAUST Computational Sciences team released the code behind their new multigrid framework, presented during SIGGRAPH 2022. According to the team, their solution allows its users to set up efficient and detailed fluid simulations with over a billion particles in Houdini. The repository, shared by the developers, contains a FLIP simulator, a Poisson solver, and a variational viscosity equation solver, all based on OpenVDB data structure accelerated by SIMD intrinsics.

You can access the code here. Also, don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
