A New Gamedev Studio Founded by a Trio of Ex-Blizzard Developers

The creators plan to leverage their decades of experience to create original AAA games.

Jen Oneal, J. Allen Brack, and John Donham, well-known veterans of the video game industry and Blizzard's ex-developers, have announced the formation of a new gamedev studio called Magic Soup Games.

The trio has an impressive track record, having worked on and led companies behind some of the biggest and most beloved games and franchises in the industry, such as World of Warcraft, Star Wars, Tony Hawk, and Diablo. With Magic Soup Games, they aim to utilize their years of experience to create original, inclusive, and uplifting AAA games for players from all around the globe.

"J., John, and I have similar ideas about the types of games we want to make, and we're tightly aligned on company goals and principles, so this was a natural fit for us," commented Magic Soup Co-Founder and CEO Jen Oneal. "We know the quality of our games will be a reflection of our team culture. We're doing the work up front to make sure we're fostering creativity, fully remote collaboration, and a diversity of backgrounds."

"Jen has great experience as a team builder, culture driver, and game maker. John and I are thrilled that she's helming the company," added J. Allen Brack. "John has decades of experience in both games and startups and will run operations. I'm excited to wake up every day and focus on game development with the team. The three of us look forward to the kinds of games and teams we'll build in the coming years."

At the moment, the trio is already working on a yet-unannounced game and is looking for talented Artists and Developers to join their team. You can learn more and apply for their available openings by visiting Magic Soup Games' official website.
