A New Tool For Creating Black Holes in Unreal Engine

Here's a new tool for UE4 and UE5 that will allow you to create black holes with a gravitational lensing effect.

Unreal Engine Artist Gioele Muscolino has released a great new tool that will allow you to create black holes in Unreal Engine. The pack provides textures, materials, material functions, special material nodes, and a blueprint that will allow you to set up, tweak, and customize any black hole you desire. The material has plenty of parameters that allow you to change the appearance of the accretion disk and the singularity.

This tool works with texture warping using quaternions, performing the distortion on a skybox texture (which can either be a default skybox or a cube render target). It is fully compatible with the latest Space Skybox Libraries. According to the developer, the tool works with both Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5. You can read the pack's documentation here.
