This new strategy game called Menace blends the scale of Warhammer with the tactical depth of XCOM.
From the creators of Battle Brothers comes Menace, a new turn-based tactical RPG set in a distant star system threatened by a mysterious enemy. A free demo is now available on Steam ahead of the game’s planned release in February.
The game blends Battle Brothers, XCOM, and Warhammer, bringing mechs, retro-futurism, sci-fi settings, and freedom of choice, with a bonus: the gritty tone of 80s cult classics like Alien and Predator.

The team says the latest demo has been significantly refined since the version shown to press and influencers a month ago, which already impressed early players with depth and variety of mechanics. You can now try one full operation with squad management, missions, and tactical battles.

Yes, mechanics are similar to XCOM, but Menace's battles are larger in scale, offer more diverse scenarios, and provide deeper layers of simulation. Players will command a strike team of marines, mercenaries, and convicts in a lawless system, where pirate captains, corrupt corporations, and fractured governments fight for power.

Mark the date: the full release is scheduled to arrive on February 5, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can download the demo on Steam.
