A New Tutorial on Creating Potion Bottles in Substance 3D Designer

Céline Dameron published the first part of the potion bottles model tutorial and explained how to use Substance Model graphs.

Adobe Quality Engineer Céline Dameron published the first part of the Substance 3D Designer potion bottles model tutorial, where she explained how to scatter curves on curves, how to use curves and booleans to create complex shapes, how to extrude shapes, and how to expose and link parameters.

For the tutorial, the author uses Substance Model graphs, introduced in Substance 3D Designer 11.2.0, which allow creating parametric models.

Every bottle consists of 5 elements, all created using curves, booleans, and extrude. The elements are connected, so their position will be adapted if you change the size of one of them.

The first part of the tutorial covers bottle creation. In the second part, Dameron promises to teach how to improve the decorations and add a liquid inside the bottle, as well as how to assign materials.

You can check out the tutorial on ArtStation. This is not Dameron's first project created with Substance Model graphs, you can also see what they can do in The Three Little Peas project.
