In case you missed it, several weeks ago, 3D Generalist and Procedural Artist Tarkan Sarim released Vertical Grooming, an amazing free tool for grooming realistic-looking hair and fur in Houdini 19.5 by painting attribute maps on the guides rather than the scalp mesh. Upon release, the developer promised to continue working on the tool and add more features to it.
Delivering on said promise, Sarim has recently shared a sneak peek trailer offering a look at the capabilities of the soon-to-be-released Vertical Grooming version 2, showing how the tool's new version can be used to set up fluffy animal fur. According to the developer, "the results seen in the video are generated purely procedurally without a single brush stroke applied."
